Overview

The Journal of Computing Innovations and Applications (CIA) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity. We take all forms of misconduct and plagiarism seriously and have established robust procedures for handling such cases.

Research Misconduct

Definition of Misconduct

Research misconduct includes but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication of data or results
  • Falsification of research materials
  • Plagiarism in any form
  • Code plagiarism or misappropriation
  • Duplicate publication
  • Misrepresentation of authorship

Investigation Process

The CIA journal follows these steps when investigating misconduct:

  1. Initial assessment of allegations
  2. Collection of evidence
  3. Communication with involved parties
  4. Consultation with editorial board
  5. Final decision and action

Authors and reviewers have the right to respond to allegations, and all investigations are conducted thoroughly and fairly.

Plagiarism Prevention

Our Anti-Plagiarism Measures:

  • Automated plagiarism detection for all submissions
  • Code similarity checking for software implementations
  • Expert review of algorithmic contributions
  • Cross-reference checking with published literature

Acceptable Use of Previous Work

The following cases are not considered plagiarism:

  • Author's own unpublished dissertation or thesis
  • Preliminary results presented at conferences (with proper citation)
  • Data from public repositories (with proper attribution)
  • Translated work with appropriate permissions and citations

Consequences of Misconduct

When misconduct is confirmed, actions may include:

  • Immediate rejection or retraction of published work
  • Publication of corrections or expressions of concern
  • Notification of authors' institutions
  • Temporary or permanent publishing ban
  • Reporting to relevant academic bodies

Error Correction

When errors are discovered that affect research interpretation:

  • Corrections (errata) will be published
  • Retractions will be issued for proven fraudulent work
  • Expressions of concern will be published for suspected misconduct
